I took my first yoga class in 2008 with my best friend. It was vinyasa and I had no idea what I was doing – I’m sure I looked like a fool – but I was laughing the whole time and loving every second of it. I was hooked. I started looking for yoga everywhere and mostly practiced vinyasa until another friend invited me to my first Bikram class in 2009. I HATED it – it was weird, hot, and took forever. I did maybe half the postures and when we left, the teacher invited me to come back the next day and I did my best not to laugh.
Three years later on a whim I decided to try another Bikram class. Something in me shifted and for some reason, I LOVED it, and by the end of that class, I decided I wanted to teach.
I went to Bikram training in spring of 2015 in Khao Lak, Thailand and started teaching right away. I wanted to learn all things yoga, so little by little, I’ve completed various trainings over the past years, including a 200-hr RYT, Buti Yoga, Deep, Yin, HotCore, and Buti Sculpt. Currently I am in school for acupuncture and Chinese herbs and hope to add ayurveda studies to that in the future as well.
I started teaching at Bikram Yoga Catonsville in September 2018 and have loved how quickly I was “adopted” into the community. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly, and loving here – I feel very lucky to be a part of it!
